Kimberley Golf Club results and a look ahead to next week’s programme

May 24-27 are:

It was another busy week at the Club.

The Wednesday, May 24 John Dory’s sponsored 18-hole IPS was won by Barend Burger on 38 pts on a count-out with

Bernard Turton 2nd also on a count-out 38 pts. Third was Zayied Suliman on 36 pts and 4th Phillip Maritz with 32 pts on a count-out. The Thursday, May 25 KWV sponsored 9-hole IPS with power play options was won by Johan Herselman with 27 pts. Second was Pete van Zyl with 26 pts and 3rd Keith Brown with 25 pts.

The Friday, May 26 SAICE Golf Day was a highly anticipated and successful event. The 18-hole 4 ball alliance format with teams of four was won by Deon van Zyl, Theunis Barnard, Hendrik de Wet and RP Oelofse with 99 pts. Second was the team of Keenan Aysen, Danie Liebenberg, Lyle Mills and Kade Aysen on 96 pts. In 3rd place was

Juandre, Jaco, Luhan and Jan on 97 pts. The 4th placed team was Orlando, Abrie, Zughdi Adikary and Akram with 81 pts.

The Flamingo niner followed the golf day in the afternoon. First place was won on a count-out by Muzapher Allie on 18 pts over Shane Arthur in second place with the same score. In 3rd place was Zahied Suliman on 16pts. Ghalid Norman was in 4th place on 15 pts.

The Saturday, May 27 St Albans Church sponsored the 18-hole IPS competition was won by Stephan le Roux on 42 pts with Muzapher Allie 2nd on 41 pts in a count-out over Sadick Thomas also on 41 pts. The Ladies section was won by Joanie

Herselman on 40 pts with Patsy Potgieter in 2nd with 35 pts.

The Charlies had their outing and competed against members from Magersfontein. The Charlies Angels walked away with the win over Magersfontein with 61 pts.

Members are encouraged to enter the annual Blacklaws and Oppenheimer Match play events and first matches will be played from June 11.

Thursday, June 8: KWV sponsored Niner with power play options.

Friday, June 9: Flamingo sponsored niner IPS.

Saturday, June 10: Beefmaster sponsored BBS as well as the weekly Charlies outing. Sunday, June 11: Social golf with special rates applying.
