IN 2016, IRMA AND MARISE FOURIE started Orel Private Academy with a mere 17 Grade 1 learners. A year later Corrie Solomons joined forces with the Fourie family and not long after that, Pniel Communal Property Association became the final partner.

Marise Fourie has been the owner of Smiley Kids Private Pre-primary for 11 years, gaining valuable experience in early childhood development.

Irma Fourie was the CEO of Tzadokah Home for over 15 years, specializing in the care of abused and abandoned children. She is currently also a life coach, offering valuable service to local teenagers in trouble.

Corrie Solomons has been part of education since 1983 and Principal of Orel Private Academy. Due to health issues, he stepped down from that position in 2022 and acted as the Academic Advisor to Orel Private Academy instead but will soon step into his shoes as Principal again.

Pniel Communal Property Association is the only Association of its kind in South Africa with ownership in a Private Independent School.

Together with a total of 29 dedicated and motivated staff members, the school is managed in a professional and caring manner.

Orel Private Academy is a Christian based, English medium private independent school, catering for children from Grade RRR to Grade 8. The school offers a wide range of services to their learners, including a CAPS aligned curriculum, academic excellence, a music academy which constitutes a choir and music lessons under the directorship of Mrs. M. Fourie (Bmus), Drama, Art Room, Small classes, sport, and modern dancing.

The sport presented at the school (tennis, netball, soccer, and athletics) will be in partnership with Leon van Blerk from PSI as from 2023 to ensure that the Orel Private Academy learners are exposed to the training and leadership of a qualified (BA Sport Science) coach.

Not only will our learners benefit from these sport sessions, but the 2023 learners chosen will also form part of the leadership training done by PSI to enhance their abilities and train future game changers.

Available at the school in 2023 will be a nutritious smoothy menu for our learners, also via the expertise of PSI, that will ensure our learners are looked after in a holistic manner to perform at their absolute best.

The school offers a sliding scale fee structure to accommodate parents and afford learners the opportunity to be educated in a private school setting.

We are cultivating a generation of leaders by teaching a method of ethics, respect, discipline, and leadership. A lot of attention is given in the teaching of moral values, breaking in down into doable actions and concepts. By engaging learners early in the importance of ethics and leadership, the Orel Private Academy team believes that the learners will then develop habits that will eventually lead to success and the ability to make the correct choices.

Orel Private Academy believes the key to success and key to any school should be character education. Factual information is not sufficient to survive in today’s world. Individuals who are now emerging as the new winners of this century are those who possess above average creativity, showing analytical skills, having a knack for foresight and good people skills. Orel Private Academy is a school where learners have South African hearts, but global minds.
