NCH swimmers do themselves proud

NORTHERN Cape High school’s swimmers participated in the Flamingo Aquatics Annual Gala at Karen Muir Swimming Pool in Kimberley last weekend.

They competed against teams from Jacobsdal, Bloemfontein, Kimberley, Kathu, Upington, Kalahari and Kovisies (UFS).

As always Team NCH did the school proud.

Chloe Ehlers (17) won 5 gold medals and 1 silver medal. (50m backstroke – gold; 100m backstroke – gold; 100m freestyle – silver; 50m butterfly – gold; 200m freestyle – gold; 1,500m freestyle – gold)

Alisha Stanfley (16) won 3 silver medals and 2 bronze medals. (800m freestyle – silver; 100m breaststroke – bronze; 200m IM – bronze; 400m freestyle – silver; 1,500m freestyle – silver)

Vasco Theron (15) won 4 gold medals and 3 bronze medals. (800m freestyle – gold; 100m breaststroke – bronze; 50m breaststroke – bronze; 400m freestyle – gold; 200m butterfly – gold; 200m freestyle – bronze; 1500m freestyle – gold)

The swimmers are now training to participate in the Northern Cape Sprints Gala to be held at Karen Muir Swimming Pool from February 4-5.
